Estudo divulgado ontem pela Firjan (Federação das Indústrias do Estado do Rio de Janeiro) constata que as empresas brasileiras ainda pagam um serviço de banda larga mais caro e de pior qualidade que suas concorrentes dos países desenvolvidos.
Esse quadro permanece, apesar da queda de preços registrada nos últimos dois anos, diz o estudo.
A conexão à internet em banda larga, por cabo, com velocidade de 1 Mbps custa, no Brasil, R$ 70,85 mensais, em média (US$ 42,73).
O mesmo serviço custa US$ 9,30 mensais (R$ 15,41) na Alemanha, US$ 12,40 (R$ 20,55) em Taiwan, US$ 28,60 (R$ 47,40) no Canadá, US$ 36 (R$ 59,66) na Suíça e US$ 40 (R$ 66,29) nos Estados Unidos, diz o estudo.
O levantamento foi entregue ao ministro das Comunicações, Paulo Bernardo, na presença dos presidentes da Oi, Luiz Eduardo Falco, e da Telefônica, Antônio Carlos Valente.
O ministro concordou que os preços são altos e disse que o governo está prestes a concluir um acordo com as teles que vai reduzir os preços e melhorar a velocidade de conexão.
Para ele, as empresas podem oferecer serviço melhor e mais barato com a infraestrutura existente, e sem sofrer perdas.
O Ministério das Comunicações incluiu a expansão da banda larga na negociação do novo PGMU (Plano Geral de Metas de Universalização) da telefonia fixa, a ser anunciado em maio.
O estudo da Firjan constata que o custo médio mensal do acesso sem fio à internet, com velocidade de 1 Mbps, está em R$ 109,82 e é relativamente uniforme no Brasil.
Já o custo médio mensal de acesso fixo, por cabo, varia de R$ 57,40 por mês (em Alagoas e Espírito Santo) a R$ 429,90, no Amapá.
Para o presidente da Oi, os números da pesquisa já estariam defasados.
Chama a atenção no levantamento realizado pela Firjan o preço relativamente baixo da conexão com velocidade de 10 Mbps no Brasil (US$ 63,57 mensais, em média, ou R$ 105,40).
A mesma conexão de 10 Mbps custa mais em países desenvolvidos, como Estados Unidos (US$ 100, ou R$ 165,73), Canadá (US$ 88,9, R$ 147,33) e Reino Unido (US$ 82,9, R$ 137,39).
Responsáveis pelas áreas de informática da Petrobras, Michelin, L’Oreal e Ipiranga criticaram a qualidade do serviço de banda larga das operadoras, durante o debate da Firjan.
A Petrobras disse que investiu na construção de redes de fibras ópticas próprias por falta de opção.
