Varsóvia, 7 set (EFE).- O ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva foi agraciado com o prêmio ‘Lech Walesa’, criado em 2008 para reconhecer personalidades destacadas por seu respaldo à liberdade, democracia e cooperação internacional.
O brasileiro receberá o prêmio em cerimônia que acontecerá no próximo dia 29 de setembro na cidade de Gdansk, no norte da Polônia, segundo a Fundação Lech Walesa confirmou nesta quarta-feira à Agência Efe.
Lula expressou seu agradecimento à fundação polonesa e disse que considera o prêmio como um reconhecimento não só de suas conquistas pessoais, mas também do povo brasileiro, que nos últimos oito anos mostrou como é possível realizar uma transição econômica e social de forma pacífica e democrática.
Por sua parte, o ex-presidente polonês Lech Walesa lembrou que, embora Lula tenha ‘raízes ideológicas diferentes’, compartilha com ele uma origem sindical e a realização de mudanças excepcionais em seus respectivos países.
Walesa fundou seu prêmio em 2008, 25 anos após ter sido agraciado com o Nobel da Paz por sua luta contra o comunismo e pelo advento da democracia na Polônia. A fundação polonesa premia o vencedor com US$ 100 mil.
Em 1990, após protagonizar numerosos protestos e pôr em xeque o Governo comunista polonês, a queda do muro de Berlim abriu as portas da democracia na Polônia, onde Lech Walesa se tornou o primeiro presidente eleito livremente pelos cidadãos desde a Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Em viagem com a mulher e o filho, o brasiliense Erasmo Rodrigues Fernandes comenta: “É lamentável que um homem culto e inteligente, nascido aqui, que foi presidente da República. governador e que é presidente do Senado, deixe sua terra natal nessa degradação”.
Dinheiro não falta: o Maranhão lidera a lista de Estados destinados a receber recursos do Ministério do Turismo, pasta nas mãos do maranhense Pedro Novais (PMDB).
Só de convênios já assinados neste ano, o Estado já foi beneficiado com R$ 22,8 milhões, segundo informa a assessoria de imprensa do Ministério do Turismo.
Para efeito de comparação, o Rio de Janeiro, sede da Copa do Mundo de 2014, tem R$ 4,3 milhões de recursos em convênios aprovados.
Com a capital do Estado vivendo um martírio, haja fé para crer que esse dinheiro se converterá em uma cidade mais piedosa com seus moradores e que não mais excomungue seus turistas.
