A Secretaria de Estado do Esporte e Lazer (Sedel) realiza, nesta quarta-feira (10), a cerimônia de abertura da 39ª edição dos Jogos Escolares Maranhenses (JEMs). O evento começará às 18h, no Ginásio Castelinho (Centro Esportivo e de Lazer do Outeiro da Cruz, em São Luís).
Um dos pontos principais será o desfile das delegações participantes. Os atletas estarão todos uniformizados representando escolas e municípios. Além do desfile, a pira olímpica será acesa marcando o início das etapas estaduais dos jogos. Antes aconteceram etapas eliminatórias de âmbito regional e municipal.
A abertura contará com a participação de diversas autoridades, entre as quais o secretário de Estado do Esporte e Lazer, Joaquim Haickel, além de lideranças políticas e comunitárias, estudantes/atletas e representantes de federações esportivas do Maranhão.
Cerca de 30 mil estudantes participam desta edição dos JEMs. Este ano, a maior competição esportiva estudantil do Maranhão teve mudanças na forma de disputa, o que contribuiu para uma ampla participação de municípios e escolas.
Joaquim Haickel afirmou que os esforços e trabalho da Sedel em realizar uma competição de sucesso serão recompensados com o empenho de todos nas disputas nas quadras, campos, piscinas e pistas e a salutar participação das torcidas.
“A equipe organizadora dos JEMs se dedicou muito para que estes jogos sejam um verdadeiro sucesso. Tenho certeza de que atletas, professores, árbitros e torcedores irão se empenhar ao máximo para que a 39ª edição dos jogos transcorra de acordo com o espírito olímpico e que esta competição seja um sucesso”, declarou Haickel.
JEMs 2011
Em 2011, os JEMs foram disputados em quatro fases nas modalidades coletivas (Metropolitana/Municipal; Regional, Interregional e Estadual) e individuais (Municipal e Estadual). A fase decisiva das modalidades coletivas e individuais ocorrerá em dois períodos.
Na categoria infantil (de 12 a 14 anos), as disputas da Etapa Estadual serão realizadas a partir desta quarta-feira (11) e prosseguem até o dia 21. As modalidades coletivas serão as primeiras. Pelo cronograma da Sedel, os campeões destes esportes serão conhecidos no dia 16 de agosto. As disputas das modalidades individuais ocorrerão em seguida, de 17 a 21 deste mês.
Com relação à competição da categoria infanto (de 15 a 17 anos), a Sedel confirmou a realização das disputas para o período de 30 de setembro a 9 de outubro.Os campeões das modalidades coletivas e individuais representarão o Maranhão nas Olimpíadas Escolares, promovidas pelo Comitê Olímpico Brasileiro (COB).
Na categoria infantil, a competição nacional será realizada de 9 a 18 de setembro, em João Pessoa. Assim como na categoria infantil, os campeões do infanto se classificam para competir pelo Maranhão nas Olimpíadas Escolares, em dezembro, em local a ser definido pelo COB.
Novidades
A partir deste ano, os atletas vencedores receberão troféus que homenagearão personalidades do esporte, como os professores Luís Pinho Rodrigues e Raimundo Figueiredo. Outra novidade é a criação do hino oficial dos jogos, que já está disponível no site da Sedel (www.esporteelazer.ma.gov.br).
