Mais correto seria dizer “à saúde individual”. Discutir sobre educação, quando se faz seriamente, invariavelmente transforma estranhos, ou mesmo antigos bons colegas, em inimigos. Em contrapartida, é indispensável para o bem da sociedade, para o futuro de todos nós. Isso acontece por vários motivos, a saber:
a) Não estamos acostumados a discutir… Passamos muitos anos, em períodos semi ou completamente ditatoriais, aprendendo a como não interferir nas atitudes que os outros estavam encarregados de tomar sobre nossas vidas. Com isso, chegamos ao clímax de pensar que coisas como reunião de condomínio, associação de moradores, Câmara de Deputados são para “gente encrenqueira” ou “desocupada” ou ainda “oportunista”. A crítica, construtiva ou não, deveria ser recebida com serenidade e simplesmente examinada sem preconceito para em seguida ser assimilada ou descartada… Mas sempre do mesmo jeito sem nunca se precisar indagar quando? Onde? Ou por quê?
b) Quando se fala de educação, todos nós temos, direta ou indiretamente, alguma ou muita culpa. E poucos entre nós acham que esse assunto é pelo menos tão relevante quanto os resultados dos últimos jogos do campeonato estadual de futebol.
c) Muito mais do que exportações, PIB, câmbio e bolsa de valores, o grau de alfabetização e a capacidade para compreender em que mundo tecnologicamente, socialmente e ecologicamente vivemos são o que realmente define o patamar de desenvolvimento em que nos encontramos. Sinto muito com relação aos que pleiteiam provas sobre isso. Isso para mim é um axioma. Não é passível de discussão. Ou você aceita como verdade, ou rejeita sumariamente. Romanticamente, poderia dizer que há evidências de que surpreendentemente nascemos para aprender, muito mais do que para produzir índices econômicos… Para quem acredita em princípios, talvez este argumento baste.
Na maioria das vezes dar educação se confunde com dar informação. A priori, o sonho que temos é colocar os nossos filhos no mais caro dos colégios.
Pois é… O colégio é o principal responsável pela informação formal que o cidadão adquire. Informação esta que só consegue virar educação se o resto da sociedade, principalmente a família, estiver caminhando, decidindo, discutindo, evoluindo lado a lado com a escola e o aluno.
A partir de então, perde-se quase que completamente o fio da meada porque, na verdade, muitos questionam a utilidade da informação que se tem na escola, sem nenhum conhecimento pra isso.
