Em maio desse ano se Completará 11 anos da escandalosa privatização da Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CRVD), a então tradicional estatal fundada em 1942 e desde 1974 a maior exportadora de minério de ferro do mundo. Menina dos olhos dos mais radicais privatistas, a companhia é alardeada hoje como o exemplo do acerto que teria sido o Programa Nacional de Desestatização levado a cabo pelo governo FHC, que entregou boa parte das estatais ao capital privado e estrangeiro a preço de banana. A CRVD foi vendida de porteira fechada, sem que tenha sido feito um levantamento patrimonial da companhia.
A partir de 29 de novembro de 2007 a marca e o nome de fantasia da empresa passaram a ser apenas Vale, nome pelo qual sempre foi conhecida nas bolsas de valores, mas foi mantida a razão social original Companhia Vale do Rio Doce. Em uma assembléia geral realizada em 22 de maio de 2009 foi aprovada a alteração da razão social da empresa para Vale S. A.
É salutar lembrar que após anos de massiva campanha pela venda da estatal nos anos 90, a Vale foi leiloada em maio de 1997. A primeira polêmica envolveu a cotação da estatal realizada pela corretora Marril Lynch, que a avaliou em R$ 10 bilhões. A empresa foi acusada de sub-avaliar jazidas e o conjunto do complexo industrial da empresa, com patrimônio superior a R$ 100 bilhões.
Depois da imbecilidade do governo FHC, descobriu-se que a corretora era ligada à empresa Anglo American, participante do leilão. A estatal foi vendida por apenas R$ 3,3 bilhões. Para se ter uma idéia, esse valor significa menos do que o lucro da empresa em apenas três meses. No ano em que foi leiloada, o lucro líquido da empresa foi de R$ 12,5 bilhões, mais de três vezes o valor de sua venda, ou melhor, dizendo, de sua doação.
Na verdade, esse processo de privatização ocorreu com o conjunto de estatais, incluindo aí a telefonia brasileira totalmente para o capital estrangeiro nos anos 90. Durante anos, o governo aplicava uma política de contenção de gastos e sabotagem deliberada como pretexto para a privatização. Após a venda, uma avalanche de números tentava legitimar a rapina do patrimônio público.
A telefonia brasileira é conhecida de todos pelos péssimos serviços prestados, cujo lucro vai todo para os países sede das empresas que adquiriram os serviços de telefonia no Brasil. Alguém está feliz com os serviços prestados e os atendimentos da Oi, TIM, Claro e a Vivo? Essas empresas além de usar uma mão-de-obra barata, procuram manter o mínimo de funcionários.
Mas vamos voltar a Vale. Agora vejo nos blogs de Décio Sá e Marco Deça que a Vale, que foi vendida a preço de banana pelo governo FHC porque não dava lucro, passou a ser caloteira, visto que já quebrou muitas empresas no Maranhão. Eu sou uma das vítimas.” A afirmação é do presidente do Sindicato da Indústria da Construção (Sinduscon) maranhense, João Batista Mota.
Segundo o blog, João Batista Mota contou que a mineradora fecha contrato com a empresa em concorrência, após esta apresentar uma planilha de serviços e custos. A firma contrata os trabalhadores, que têm de fazer um curso de 60 dias antes de começar o serviço. “O primeiro problema começa aí porque a Vale se recusa a cobrir estes dois meses de salários”, explica.
De acordo com informações, uma das últimas vítimas foi a Construtora WO, que levou calote de R$ 30 milhões. Com isso, vale perguntar: Cadê o lucro dessa empresa? Se tem por que não cumpre os contratados firmados? Qual é a preocupação desse grupo que não se preocupa com o desemprego em massa de pais de família?
O certo é que a privatização da Companhia Vale do Rio Doce a preço de banana continua sendo contestada. Colocada hoje entre as maiores mineradoras do mundo, a empresa, para alguns setores sociais, não teria sido vendida, mas doada em virtude do baixo valor da transação. O presidente Lula diz que a reestatização da Vale causaria insegurança jurídica, porém o seu partido político, o PT, apoiou o plebiscito (a privatização da Vale deve ser revista?) no qual 90% dos 3,7 milhões de votantes disseram ser favoráveis à reestatização.
