Não se sabe ainda a extensão do crime ambiental. O certo é que a Vale está trazendo engenheiros de fora do Maranhão ao local do acidente onde até moradores estão sendo proibidos de se aproximar. A multinacional já cercou todo o local com bóias de contenção no sentido de evitar que o óleo se espalhe. A revolta da população é grande. O abastecimento d’água e peixe em Vitória pode ficar comprometido. O medo agora é que a possível cheia do rio, a exemplo do que vem ocorrendo em Trizidela do Vale, espalhe óleo nas casas dos ribeirinhos.
Luciano Moreira é vice-presidente da CFT em seu primeiro mandato
O deputado federal Luciano Moreira (PMDB-MA) foi eleito ontem (2) vice-presidente da Comissão Permanente de Finanças e Tributação (CFT) da Câmara Federal, que é responsável pelas matérias relacionadas a projetos que gerem qualquer alteração e impacto nas receitas ou despesas públicas. A CFT conta com 33 membros permanentes titulares e a mesma quantidade de suplentes. Dos 33, 26 compareceram à votação. Os nomes dos parlamentares Luciano Moreira e Claudio Puty (PT/PA) foram submetidos à votação e aprovados por unanimidade. Para Luciano Moreira, a atuação na Comissão converge com as intenções de engajamento na luta do desenvolvimento regional. “Fico muito feliz de, nos primeiros meses de mandato, já poder ocupar cadeira representativa em uma comissão tão importante como a de Finanças e Tributação. Creio que poderemos colaborar com o levantamento de temas que se encaixem com as necessidades do Maranhão e do Nordeste, além de colocarmos em pauta assuntos-macro, como a reforma tributária”, disse o parlamentar.

Em visita ao presidente Sarney, o alto representante do MERCOSUL, Samuel Pinheiro Guimarães, sugeriu que o Senado realize uma sessão especial de comemoração dos 20 anos do MERCOSUL, entidade criada em 26 de março de 1991. Pinheiro Guimarães lembrou que na presidência da República, em 1988, José Sarney tomou iniciativas para a integração política e econômica dos países da América do Sul. Em 1991, essas articulações resultaram no Tratado de Assunção, assinado pela Argentina, Brasil, Paraguai e Uruguai e que criou o mercado comum entre esses países. Pinheiro Guimarães também defende uma política brasileira cada vez mais presente na América do Sul dentro dos princípios de não intervenção, de autodeterminação e de cooperação. Os desafios da América do Sul reclamam grandes esforços políticos e econômicos dos países mais desenvolvidos da região, segundo Pinheiro Guimarães.
