Com a decisão, um novo pleito foi marcado para o dia 31 e a vaga declarada aberta para conhecimento de interessados. A medida foi tomada em decorrência da decisão unânime do plenário do Conselho Nacional de Justiça que ratificou liminar concedida em Procedimento de Controle Administrativo, ainda pendente do julgamento do mérito, que questionou a participação do desembargador José Joaquim Figueiredo dos Anjos no processo de escolha e suspendeu os efeitos da eleição. A decisão do CNJ foi comunicada pelo presidente do TJMA, desembargador Jamil Gedeon, e submetida à apreciação do pleno. Unanimemente, os desembargadores presentes decidiram anular a eleição e garantir o preenchimento da vaga no TRE. O Procedimento de Controle Administrativo foi proposto no CNJ pelo juiz Eulálio de Almeida no dia 26 de julho, alegando que o grau de parentesco do desembargador Joaquim Figueiredo com os concorrentes o impediria de votar. Contra o voto dos desembargadores Jamil Gedeon e Stélio Muniz, a maioria decidiu que só haveria impedimento nos casos de promoção de juiz. A votação terminou em 9 votos a favor do juiz Eulálio e 10 para o juiz José Jorge, escolhido na ocasião para a vaga.

O presidente da Federação dos Municípios do Estado do Maranhão (FAMEM), prefeito Junior Marreca, confirmou a participação da entidade no Seminário de Lideranças Regional de São Luis, que acontecerá nessa quinta-feira (18). O evento está sendo organizado pelo Governo do Estado, através da Secretaria de Estado de Assuntos Políticos e da Casa Civil, em parceria com a FAMEM, e contará com representantes do Tribunal de Contas do Estado (TCE), Controladoria Geral da União (CGU) e Assembléia Legislativa. “O evento de São Luís representa, para nós da FAMEM, o fechamento de um ciclo, muito proveitoso por sinal. Esta foi uma iniciativa pioneira, que levou o Governo do Estado e as instituições executoras de projetos para perto dos municípios, que são, em última análise, o destino final das ações governamentais”, avaliou Marreca. A expectativa é que participem várias lideranças de todo o Maranhão, prefeitos dos 217 municípios maranhenses, além de deputados, vereadores, lideres comunitários e a população em geral.

Um grupo de policiais ferroviários, acompanhados do deputado federal Ademir Camilo (PDT/MG), do diretor-executivo da Associação Nacional dos Transportes Ferroviários, Rodrigo Villaça e do coordenador da Comissão Nacional dos Representantes da Polícia Ferroviária Federal (PFF), em visita ao presidente do Senado, José Sarney, agradeceu pela aprovação, no último dia 5, da Lei 12.462/11, que criou a Polícia Ferroviária Federal. Os dirigentes sindicais entregaram ao presidente um certificado de agradecimento e uma miniatura de locomotiva para registrar a aprovação da lei. Rodrigo Villaça explica que o apoio de José Sarney a causa iniciou em 1989, quando no exercício da Presidência da República. Naquela ocasião, lembra Villaça, Sarney emitiu decreto instituindo uma Comissão Interministerial para a reestruturação da Polícia Rodoviária Federal e a criação da Polícia Ferroviária Federal. Caberá a PFF garantir a segurança e a fiscalização na malha ferroviária de todo o país. “Agora, com o poder de polícia poderemos, por exemplo, ampliar a fiscalização no transporte de cargas nas nossas ferrovias”, destacou o dirigente sindical. O deputado Ademir Camilo também solicitou ao presidente do Senado o apoio para agilizar a regulamentação, tornando uma realidade efetiva a luta da categoria.
